കോളേജ് വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയെ യുവാവ് കഴുത്തറുത്തുകൊന്നു
ചിറ്റൂര്‍ (പാലക്കാട്): കോളേജുവിട്ട് കൂട്ടുകാരികള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം വീട്ടിലേക്ക് നടന്നുപോവുകയായിരുന്ന പതിനെട്ടുകാരി വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയെ മോട്ടോര്‍ ബൈക്കിലെത്തിയ യുവാവ് കഴുത്തറുത്തുകൊന്നു.
കണക്കമ്പാറ തമ്പാട്ടുകളം മുകുന്ദന്റെ മകള്‍ അഞ്ജുഷയാണ് മരിച്ചത്. കഞ്ചിക്കോട് വി.വി. കോളേജിലെ ഒന്നാംവര്‍ഷ ബി.കോം വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയാണ്. കേസിലെ പ്രതിയായ കണക്കമ്പാറ തേമ്പാറമട ഷാജഹാനെ (23) സംഭവസ്ഥലത്ത് അവശനിലയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. ഇയാള്‍ വിഷംകഴിച്ചതായി സംശയിക്കുന്നു. ടിപ്പര്‍ ഡ്രൈവറാണ്.
ചിറ്റൂര്‍ ആസ്പത്രിയിലെത്തിച്ച ഇയാളെ പിന്നീട് തൃശ്ശൂരിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത് ക്ഷുഭിതരായ ജനക്കൂട്ടം തടഞ്ഞു. ഇയാളെ കയറ്റിയ ആംബുലന്‍സിന്റെ ചില്ല് ജനം തകര്‍ത്തു.ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച വൈകീട്ട് 5.30 ഓടെ കണക്കമ്പാറ-തേമ്പാറമട റോഡിലാണ് സംഭവം. കൂട്ടുകാരികളും അയല്‍വാസികളുമായ ധന്യ, റബീന എന്നിവര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം കണക്കമ്പാറ ജങ്ഷനില്‍ ബസ്സിറങ്ങിയശേഷം ഒരുകിലോമീറ്ററോളം ദൂരത്തുള്ള വീട്ടിലേക്ക് നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അഞ്ജുഷ. ഈസമയം ഇവര്‍ക്കുപിന്നാലെ ബൈക്കിലെത്തി ഷാജഹാന്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയെ തടഞ്ഞുനിര്‍ത്തി കത്തികൊണ്ട് വയറില്‍ കുത്തിവീഴ്ത്തിയതിനുശേഷം കഴുത്തറക്കുകയായിരുന്നെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. കഴുത്തിന്റെ ഇടതുവശത്ത് സാരമായി മുറിവേറ്റ അഞ്ജുഷ സംഭവസ്ഥലത്ത് കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണു.
സംഭവം നേരില്‍ക്കണ്ട ധന്യയും റബീനയും നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഓടി. കരച്ചില്‍കേട്ട് ഓടിയെത്തിയ നാട്ടുകാര്‍ അഞ്ജുഷയെ ചിറ്റൂര്‍ താലൂക്ക് ആസ്പത്രിയിലെത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല. സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ ഏറെ രക്തം വാര്‍ന്നുപോയിരുന്നു. വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയെ ആക്രമിക്കാനുപയോഗിച്ച കത്തി സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് കണ്ടെടുത്തു. അഞ്ജുഷയുടെ ബാഗും ചോറ്റുപാത്രവും നിലത്തുകിടന്നിരുന്നു.
വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയെ ആക്രമിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ അവശനിലയില്‍ കുഴഞ്ഞുവീണ യുവാവിനെ പോലീസെത്തി ഒരുമണിക്കൂറിനുശേഷമാണ് ആസ്പത്രിയിലേക്കുമാറ്റിയത്. മാസങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമുമ്പ് യുവാവ് വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിക്ക് എസ്.എം.എസ്. അയച്ചതിനെ വീട്ടുകാര്‍ ചോദ്യംചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ പ്രതികാരമാണ് കൊലയ്ക്കുകാരണമെന്ന് സംശയിക്കുന്നതായി പോലീസ് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി. യുവാവിന്റെ പേഴ്‌സില്‍നിന്ന് മരിച്ച വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനിയുടെ രണ്ട് ഫോട്ടോകള്‍ കണ്ടെടുത്തതായും പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. അന്വേഷണച്ചുമതലയുള്ള പാലക്കാട് ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി. സി.കെ. രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ സംഭവസ്ഥലം സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചു. അഞ്ജുഷയുടെ അച്ഛന്‍ മുകുന്ദന്‍ മാത്തൂരില്‍ പെട്രോള്‍പമ്പില്‍ ജോലിക്കാരനാണ്.

This scene took place on a British Airways flight between Johannesburg, South Africa & London.
A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man.
Very disturbed by this, she called the air hostess. "You obviously do not see it then?" she asked. "You placed me next to a black man. I did not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."
"Be calm please," the hostess replied.
"Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available."
The hostess went away & then came back a few minutes later.
"Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in Economy Class.
I spoke to the captain & he informed me that there is also no seat in Business Class. All the same, we still have one place in First Class."
Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued.
"It is not usual for our company to permit someone from Economy Class to sit in First Class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."
The Hostess turned to the black guy, & said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First Class."

Google Search tips for productivity
Did you know that you can use google for much more than surfing? Apart from being able to just search websites you can get the local time anywhere, get stock quotes, use it as a simple calculator, and so much more. Here are a few tricks to make you a more productive Google user.
Calculator
This is a feature I use a whole lot and it's extremely simple. Just type in a simple expression and Google will solve it for you. I think the calculator goes as far as square roots, so if you need your quadratic equations solved look elsewhere. However for simple multiplication tasks or additions, just write in what you need like so:
"126+3235″"76*12″
Currency converter
This is something I tried a few months back because I was converting currencies a lot and I thought, hey, maybe Google has this. So I wrote "420 USD in HUF" which neatly converted my $420 into Hungraian Forints. To use this you need to know the three letter abbreviation of the currency you need, but looking that up is just a few seconds. Be sure to always caps all the characters in the currency's name though or else it won't work. Here's the syntax again:
"125 USD in GBP""300 EUR in USD"
Time finder
Finding the time anywhere is really easy with Google, all you need to do is prefix any city with "time". The cool thing about this is that Google lists all found cities, since there are four "Plymouth's" for example, and seeing them all listed, and their location makes finding any time a cinch, just use:
"time Plymouth""time Budapest"
Weather
Finding the weather in any city is exactly the same as finding the time, just prefix the city with "weather" and you'll get forecasts for anywhere. Sadly this doesn't work as flexibly as the time option, you won't get all the cities listed if you just type Plymouth, but it's still a quick and easy way to get a forecast, just type:
"weather Budapest""weather Los Angeles"
Unit conversion
I used to live in the US, but since I have been using meters and kilograms for 20 years, so I'm a bit out of touch with pounds and inches. In these cases unit conversion is really handy, but you usually have to visit a site for that which takes way to long. Just type it into Google! You can convert a lot of types here, just use the following syntax:
"16mi in km""75kg in lbs"
Spell checking
I don't know if this is a real feature or not, but if you don't know how to spell a word, just type it into Google, if you misspell it, Google will ask you if you meant something else. If you type recieve instead of receive, Google will say: "Did you mean receive?". The functions here a pretty limited and in some extremely rare words may not work, but for the simple spell checking of one word it's perfect.
